I have been in the salon industry for 18 years. I am the general manager and senior stylist and have 10 years of experience managing our current location. Hair is my passion. I love what I do, but more importantly, I love where I work and the many talented professionals I work with. I feel not only blessed but also grateful. When the opportunity arose to be a salon manager, I took it. It could have been a gamble or, in my case, the chance of a lifetime.
When I was six years old, I taught myself how to French braid a My Little Pony toy! I now know where my calling began. It wasn’t until I was 22 years old that the opportunity presented itself. Call it fate, divine intervention, or perhaps coincidence: my future had now been defined. I started out as an apprentice, then an assistant, and now a stylist and manager. It was a long but fast journey. Along the way, I have learned, grown, and honed my skills. My passion has become my livelihood, and my talent has become my skill.
The ever-changing industry fuels my creativity and has allowed me to work with -md- all different types of people. I love that aspect of my career the most. Communication and business are my educational background and have built the foundation for my career. I have a great work/life balance. This industry has allowed me to travel the world more than I could have ever imagined. I have gained many friends and invaluable life skills. I was encouraged to follow my dreams by my parents as well as by my mentor, Cathy. I now encourage others and mentor many students like my former self. I have always been taught to pay it forward, and as a senior stylist I have the tools to empower others. My journey continues, and I look forward to the future and all it has to offer.
